Building a Culture of Leadership Growth with Dr. Frank Damazio
The culture of leadership growth is built by and sustained by leaders of the local church who understand their primary mission as a leader. The primary purpose of the leader and the leadership team is to find, identify, develop, and release emerging leaders into places of fruitful serving. We will develop this theme and seek to equip all leaders to reproduce leaders.
SESSION 1: Effective Leaders Require Clarity
Effective leadership requires a very special absolute ingredient called clarity. Clarity is being free from obscurity and easy to understand, the comprehensibility of clear expression. Clarity is essential. It is at this season a requirement, a clear and distinct sound that must be heard. Leaders need to be clear: clear about their vision, clear about their intent, clean in their communication and clear in their actions. How clear are you leading the congregation in these times of blurriness. Clarity is maybe one of the single greatest values a leader can bring to the church.
SESSION 2: Characteristics of an Emerging Leadership Culture
Today we face the great challenge of not only growing great churches, but of growing great leaders to lead our churches. The leadership team of a church must carefully establish and strategically nurture a culture that finds, develops and releases qualified leaders into the local church. This must be a primary mission of every pastor and leader in every department of the church.
SESSION 3: Recognizing and Developing Emerging Leaders
The primary mission of leaders is to find, identify, develop, and release emerging leaders. This process is one that necessitates strategy, passion, consistency, and wisdom. The spiritually healthy church is the reflection of a strong pool of emerging leaders in every department of ministry of the church. Leadership development is a continuous process, not a one-time event. The demand for qualified leadership has challenged the supply process. We must create processes that work well and quickly.
SESSION 4: Building and Sustaining Leadership Trust
In light of all the current leadership disappointments and church leader fiascos, coupled with a society disillusioned toward the church and institutions, we find ourselves in a challenge of trust. Trust must be earned and then protected at all costs because without trust we have an empty leadership process. A true leader has the ability to give meaning to a crisis event and turn it into an opportunity for growth. Our experience of placing our trust in God should increase our capacity to trust and encourage us to build trust within our relationships and our leadership. The greater a leader exhibits trust-producing behaviors, the greater the lay person’s trust in his or her leadership. Creating an environment of trust is the heart of true leadership.

COME EARLY
Wednesday 6:45PM: Strategic Vision to Reach Cities and Regions
We must enlarge the depth and breadth of our vision to see reaching whole cities and regions for Christ. The church must see their city as their responsibility and cover it in prayer. Like Nehemiah, we must see the wall of Jerusalem broken down and its gates burned with fire. The city is in desperate need of people who build churches to match the city, breaking through a city’s invisible barriers to the gospel.
