ABOUT

WHAT TO EXPECT

Church should be a fun, inspirational place where you can connect with God. At Riverside, you'll experience friendly people, great music, encouraging talks, and an inspirational atmosphere where life happens.

Worried about coming to such a BIG church? Here's what to expect.

We’re a big church, but we guarantee it will feel small.
We understand that it can be intimidating to walk into a big building that is unfamiliar. However, we guarantee that the first face you’ll see will have a smile on it. People love to come to Riverside. Whatever you are looking for, you’ll find a greeter nearby to help you get to where you need to go.

The only question is will your kids have more fun than you will?
We know that, whether you have infants or older children, you need a safe place for them to learn. We also know that your kids want to have lots of fun. Our children’s pastor and volunteers who work in our children’s ministry are committed to providing a safe and fun place for your kids. We really do want to be a support and an encouragement to your family!

You’ll walk out feeling different than when you walked in.
The awesome thing about Jesus is that He never leaves us the same. Having spent time in the presence of the Lord, you will feel different. At Riverside, you’ll enjoy great music and practical, down-to-earth teaching that will impact your life.

How do I get there?
The church is located at the corner of Monroe and Hamilton, right in the heart of downtown Peoria. If you’re coming to visit us, decide which what time works best and come give us a visit. All services (including Midweek and Confession, our young adult ministry) happen in our main auditorium.

What do I wear?
Some people think you have to dress in your best to go to church, but at Riverside, we just want you to come as you are. Some people dress nicely, but you won't feel out of place in jeans and a t-shirt. No matter how you dress, you’ll feel comfortable at Riverside.

We understand that life is busy and sometimes complicated. Church shouldn’t be.
We believe that church should be an enjoyable experience, a place that’s easy to get to and a place where we can all pause to experience God, enjoy each other and celebrate life. If you’ve never been to church, or it’s been a while, we hope that we’ve been able to answer some of your questions. We encourage you to join us for church so that you can find a place where you can see how much God really has in store for you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
